MY NEW RELEASE REVIEW of

To Seduce a Lady’s Heart

To-Seduce-a-Ladys-Heart-Cover

The Landon Sisters #3

by Ingrid Hahn

TSaLHTeaser2

Publisher’s Description:

Lord Jeremy Landon, Earl of Bennington, spent the last ten years rebuilding the ruined earldom he inherited from his scandal-ridden uncle. He has one final debt to repay. In lieu of money, though, he is manipulated into marrying a spinster…

Lady Eliza Burke is tired of living under the rule of a tyrannical mother. She’ll do anything to escape, even marry a man she doesn’t know—and a man her mother despises. Eliza doesn’t believe herself destined for love. Lord Bennington doesn’t believe he’s destined for happiness. Both are about to be tested by a scandal that could tear them apart forever.

My Thoughts:

This is the second book that I have read in this series and book number three in the series.
I have only recently read any books by this author.
This tale has many twists and turns and is a compelling and convoluted romp.

This book starts as a story of a man in need of a way to end the debt that his predecessor incurred saying he is willing to do anything. He never imagined anything would mean marriage to a woman he has never met.

The intended bride is equally unwilling, so her cousin (actually half sister) unbeknown to the intended groom takes her place.

Eliza has previously been engaged and rejected after her intended learns she is not virginal. She has no intentions to marry but will replace the bride to save her cousin.

This story leads us on a merry chase that is at times confusing. Will Jeremy and Eliza turn this into a love story or will this confusing story end badly?

I gave this interesting tale 4 of 5 stars for storyline and character development and a sensual rating of 2.5 of 5 flames.
The sensuality rating has more to do with the sometimes confusing and conflictive nature of this tale than the actual sexual encounters.

This is a book I loved at times and felt totally confused about at other times. But overall it is well done.

It can easily be read as a standalone book since there are few characters in common with the other book I have read in this series.

I received a complimentary digital copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley to read. This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

A SCANDALOUS TEMPTATION
Andrew Lochlannach is famous for his conquests, on and off the battlefield. When a fellow warrior challenges him to a kissing contest, he wastes no time in planting his lips on ninety-nine lovely lasses-an impressive feat of seduction that gets him banished to the hinterlands. Still, Andrew has no regrets about his exploits-especially his embrace with the most beguiling woman he’s ever met…
AN UNDENIABLE PASSION
With flaming red hair and a temper to match, Susana is not some innocent farmgirl who gives herself over easily to a man, even one as ruggedly handsome as Andrew. The wicked Scot may have won a kiss from the headstrong beauty in a moment of mutual desire, but Susana refuses to be just another one of his conquests. Andrew must convince the fiery lass that even though he is not playing a game, losing her is not an option… “You can’t go wrong with a Sabrina York story.”-Desiree Holt

Publisher’s Description:

A HASTY MARRIAGE to redeem her reputation is bad enough, but Alessandra’s punishment for an innocent moment in the park is not to end there. Her groom comes to her with the puzzling proposal that, despite the terrible scandal it would be, she may ask that they go their separate ways if she finds that they simply do not suit. What is a bride-even one forced to wed-to think of such an offer? Particularly when her new husband had been meant to marry another woman, a beauty who seems to be constantly in the company of Alessandra’s bridegroom…

IF GEOFFREY NEEDED an example of a poor marriage, he had only to look to his estranged parents. So he listened to his mama when she pleaded with him not to forever trap Alessandra in marriage if theirs proves to be loveless. But now that his word is given, how to carry on with his new wife? It will take a scrupulous consideration of Alessandra’s sensibilities, a modicum of self control, and pillows dividing the bed her father insists they share. But the sight of his bride, adorably attired in modest night clothes, is distinctly unsettling. And he’s increasingly hoping he sees not rejection but warmth in his unintended bride’s eyes…

Publisher’s Description:

Lucinda Brant’s sweeping family sagas are a perfect reminder of why I fell in love with historical romance —Cheryl Bolen, New York Times bestselling author

Roxton Family Saga: Julian and Deb’s Happily Ever After.

1760s England and France: Based on real events, a hasty midnight marriage establishes a dynasty.

Just twelve years old, and drugged with laudanum to make her compliant, Deborah Cavendish is woken in the middle of the night and married off to a distraught boy not much older than herself.

Years later, Deb stumbles across a wounded duelist in the forest, and it is love at first sight. Deb has no idea the wounded duelist is in truth her noble husband Julian Hesham, Marquess of Alston, returned to England after years in exile to claim his wife.

Remaining incognito, Julian is determined Deb will fall in love with him, not his title, and sets out to woo her before she can be seduced by a persistent suitor with ulterior motives. Their marriage, and the future of the Roxton dukedom depend upon it.

The energy starts on page one and never lets up. The love story between Julian and Deborah is tender, and filled with the kind of blunders young people make when setting out on the rocky road of true love. Twists and turns, dramatic revelations, and some enjoyable chaos make this a book that keeps the reader turning pages. Highly recommended! — Fiona Ingram, Readers’ Favorite 5 STAR Medal Winner

“Lucinda Brant fully immerses the reader in the world of Georgian England. She reveals pieces of the story as the book progresses, keeping me turning the pages, or listening late into the night as the case may be. For those historical romance fans who have been gobsmacked by Nicholas Boulton (as a narrator), I am thrilled to report that Alex Wyndham is every bit as good. His narrative voice is deep and lovely. I unreservedly recommend that you listen to MIDNIGHT MARRIAGE.”—Lady Wesley, Romantic Historical Reviews audiobook review

You will once again be reminded why Lucinda Brant’s books are such a treasure.” —SWurman, Night Owl Reviews 5 STAR Top Pick
