VALERIE BOWMAN grew up in Illinois with six sisters (she’s number seven) and a huge supply of historical romance novels. After a cold and snowy stint earning a degree in English with a minor in history at Smith College, she moved to Florida the first chance she got. Valerie now lives in Jacksonville with her family including her two rascally dogs. When she’s not writing, she keeps busy reading, traveling, or vacillating between watching crazy reality TV and PBS. MY THOUGHTS:

I love Valerie’s Playful Bride Series!!!

It is as simple as that. This entire series in this reader’s opinion is not to be missed.

The scheming plots and antics of Lucy Hunt (Duchess of Claringdon), Cassandra (Countess of Swifdon) and Jane carry over into this story to make it riotously funny at times.  Throw in a caretaker, Mr. Fergus and his little dog Fergus II ( description makes you believe he is a Scottish Terrier) to top off this very funny delightful story by a favorite author. It is impossible not to become totally engaged with the characters and storyline.

This romance has more of a sweet, funny plot than a sex filled one. You want to laugh more than cry. If you like your historical romance filled with humor rather than torrid sex scenes this is most definitely a book I feel you will enjoy.

I gave this new “Playful Brides” Book a solid 5 star rating  for storyline and characterization. As always I look forward to more by this author.
